Morocco is a colorful place, and as such, it’s a great opportunity to step out of your usual blacks and browns and into something that it inspired by the sights surrounding you.

Also keep in mind that Morocco is predominately Muslim, and it’s best to be respectful and cover yourself. I saw plenty of women walking around in tanks and mini shorts and dresses, and while you won’t be arrested or anything for wearing minuscule clothing, you will get stares, things said to you, and perhaps even people feeling that they can touch you. I preferred to play it safe and to cover almost neck to toe, not wanting to draw any unwanted attention.
Depending upon the city and time of year in which are you are visiting, the temperatures can range from pretty chilly to downright scorching. When I visited in November, the temperatures hovered around perfect (75F/24C), making my clothing choice simple: leggings, blousey tanks, and cardigans. I packed a scarf every day just incase the temperatures dropped or I felt the need to cover my chest. Also, and this is my number one tip for clothing choices: choose close-toed flats. The streets are filthy and can be wet and disgusting, and I definitely didn’t want to be stepping in and sloshing around in unknown liquids and such.
Lastly, pick up a few clothing items when you are in the souks in Morocco. They are the perfect place to pick up some colorful and (somewhat) authentic Moroccan fashions. It’s a great way to mix in some “exotic” with your typical clothing items.
I will probably be in Morocco at some point in the next year and am so excited to add some more color into my wardrobe. Living in Bilbao, Spain has turned my wardrobe into all black and neutrals.

Ah, then you’ll LOVE the color in Morocco, Kaitlyn! My full-time travel wardrobe consisted mostly of blacks and neutrals too, so I was excited to pick up a few colorful things in Morocco to mix it up! :)
Where’d you get the shirt? love it all
I don’t actually own this shirt–it’s just similar to something I own. But here’s where you can purchase this specific shirt: http://www.paulsmith.co.uk/us-en/shop/womens/paul-by-paul-smith/womens-underwater-floral-print-vest-top.html
I cannot wait to explore the Moroccan markets in June and see all these colours. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on what to wear.
